Really liked the game, however movement on the map is somewhat sluggish and could be made better. A map would be an adequate addition too.

Quite fun!

DLord2 responds:

Thank you for your feedback!

Although the game appears very limited and not properly executed, pushing through that, the game is quite drawn-out with multiple endings that have a lot of dialogue for a short visual novel. The only complaint I could say is not utilising that animated style you had at the introduction of the game, that looked really artistically amazing and complimented the art style a lot!

Regarding the story, I actually got teary over some parts, perhaps seeing a aspiring lover reach her dreams is the reason why or the guys reciprative feelings (at least in some parts), but that may be due to me personally :P
I very much like the writing, although sometimes could be a little more detailed and longer, otherwise it is entertaining and interesting, it holds my attention and my emotion, something I feel is a pivotal requirement for any story-based media, so good job on fulfilling that!

Also, please flesh out the small endings, like the 'cold' ending just felt like a empty choice, why did he leave when in the other ones he doesn't? It isn't explained at all.

KoltonKennedy responds:

Thank you for that review. I'll try to improve and do a little better in the next story or perhaps...a sequel. As for the bad ending, the only explanation of him leaving is...there's nothing to explain at all. It's just a gag and I put it there on purpose. :)

The AI always does the same thing, first shot is headshot, next three shots miss, next shot hits neck/chest and next one headshots.

Other then that, the game is a bit bland and is a bit too hard personally, but works well in what it tries to do.

Snakebee responds:

Your explanation does not seem to apply to my personal testing and the testing of multiudes of other players. I'll admit the AI logic is not as refined as it could be, but this is primarily a multiplayer game anyways. Thank you for your feedback

Very interesting game, I can tell that it was inspired by Kingdom Rush and such games, but although there is that, the game itself is quite original and sets itself out.

The game is obviously inspired of Kingdom Rush and other games and at first it seems to be its flaw, but I personally noticed very crucial changes and innovations, for example, I was quite surprised that the units respawned at the summoning portal, but not only that, you have the option to 'spend' your stars to upgrade your characters, buildings and others, but not in a upgrade screen, in a unique original village setting that you gives you bonuses for upgrading or creating buildings, it is all very creative and interesting. The different ways and challenges you have access to after completing a mission.

4/5, would've been a 5 otherwise, but the game is based around a used concept, however manages to make itself very original and it's own game. Great job!

anniedududu responds:

Thanks, we will keep up make good games!

Not at all funny, elderly and individuals vulnerable to conditions provoked by screamers play flash games too.

Choosing the wrong door results in a screamer and is unnecessarily loud, please try to be unique when making horror games and not use screamos and if you are, list a warning.

Ctnumber responds:

that's the point :P

Very good idea, very good concept, this would be a very addicting game if expanded upon

Since the game is very short and linear, i'm only giving it a 4.5, but it's still a very good flashgame, especially one that made in that amount of time!

Zanzlanz responds:

Thank you! c:
I am definitely considering to make a longer version :D

I don't really see the point, is there a intended point or joke you're trying to make?

The title is misleading, this has nothing to do with a Rogue like, just a facebook emulator.

Finnegan2100 responds:

You're liking rogues! How is this not a rogue like??

Not very good at all.

Sadly, the text is.. Not very readable, it seems clamped together and seem't desperate for space, try pacing out the letters.

Don't use a backround for text games, these games are ment to have a black backround, so people don't get distracted, some people get distracted easily, some won't, but you have to try to appeal to everyone, or at least the majority.

There isn't really any sense of direction or any sense of storyline and you didn't do it well at all, if it's a text game where you type, you've got to let the players type whatever they want, I suggest that you make a space game, or it could be based on a school, whatever you want, but make that you can talk to whoever you want, do whatever you want, rebel on your command/teachers, ETC.

But please, fix up the font, make the letters more separate and fix this disorientating mess.

PhantomCat responds:

This game was meant to appeal to no people whatsoever, and I don't know what text games you've been playing, but you generally have to magically read the author's mind to know what to type next.

What the hell is this? How is this even classified as a game...

SoupSquad responds:

Interactivity = game

Holy crap, this is very... Advanced, I actually never knew flash games could get this thorough, nevertheless, it's a very good game in all, it seems to have a terraria-MC vibe which is very good, I played a good hour on this and had a spectacular time.

Bugs:

Block Clipping:
Sometimes i'd go through blocks, not the background ones, actual wooden planks at times, though this isn't that bad since you do not suffocate, but it can become a nuisance in certain situations.

Hit range: I don't know if this is a bug, but sometimes when I hit, in the direction of the creature, it does not hit, is there a hit/miss system? Or is the combat a WIP?

Block mis-conception:
Not really a bug, but a VERY big personal issue, for E.G, the wooden planks, the background version looks pretty much the same, so I get mixed up, I accidently made my house out of the background blocks and then discovered I can walk through the entire thing :P

Suggestions:

Multiplayer - 'Nuff said. I know you've already stated you'd implement it in the sequel, but think of this as a reminder :P

Also, incorporate a server browser and attempt to have Dedicated servers for every MC/MB genre, like Survival, PvP, Competitive Survival (Survival PvP), Creative, Friendly Survival.

Difficulty levels - Moar difficulty levels, like Lonely/Peaceful/Easy/Normal/Hard, just so it's a bit harder.

Hardcore mode - One life, if you die, you must restart from the last save or alternatively delete the world, it is up to you, the dev, to choose which way you implement this.

Originality - Although you've done a spactular job and I am very proud to have played this FLASH game that's better then bloody Castle Miner, a indie game, you should be proud, a FLASH game better then a group of INDIE devs. Wtf? :P

Back to my point, in all fairness, this is not original at all, it may be a remake/parody, but you, as a dev, need to incorporate something to the project and not use used idea's, perhaps make a secret level, easter eggs, extra minerals, extra smelting options, ETC.

Now, I have no experience with flash, besides what I've played, I've played lots of flash games, I had an old account in 2008 that I lost, from password and email loss so I made a new one and in all my flashy game witness, I have never witnessed a game this advanced, I wasn't even aware this was possible, so bravo.

Favourited, all my five stars and you've also got yourself a fan :D

Zanzlanz responds:

Thank you very much for your review and support! :D

> Block clipping - there's a new collision engine in the next update that should definitely help with that issue (if not fix it).
> Hit range - I think you have to be hitting withing a block and a half from the mob to deal damage. In some cases, the mob is outside of that range. This could be improved upon in the future.
> Block mis-conception - I understand. Honestly, I dislike the background blocks a lot, and I never really spent too much time with them. The reason is background blocks are at the same level as the foreground, so their behavior is very much the same. I'm not sure if this is something I'm going to fix, or just ignore in the future.
> Multiplayer - Not possible in this version, but like you acknowledged, it will be in Mine Blocks 2.
> Difficulty levels - that's what I was thinking, but haven't really gotten around to planning it out much.
> Hardcore mode - I thought about it... and I was caught between 'why?' and 'why not?' xD It's probably going to be a feature some time in the future :)
> Originality - There's plenty of original stuff - most of which is small - but have a look at some of the following if you wish:
>> J block (One per world, and has a future of which I cannot tell)
>> Oddstone, topaz, and ender gems
>> Set a chicken on fire, haha
>> Ender dragon armor
>> Chicken nuggets... :D
Sure, I plan to add more too ;O

Thank you, again for your support! There is much more to come! If you want to keep up to date, there is a Facebook and Twitter page for Mine Blocks :)

And just add a 2 at the end for Mine Blocks 2
